We talked in our class about the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It's a set of seventeen goals including ending poverty and hunger, improving health and education, making cities more sustainable, combating climate change, and protecting oceans and forests. The five most important UN SDGs for me are:- hunger
- water and sanitation
- health
- education
- poverty
For my Entrepreneur profile assignment I researched about Dr. Askwar Hilonga. He developed a low cost customizable water filtration system that promises to transform the lives of many Africans. The huge need in his community inspired him, he grew up in a small village in Tanzania and saw with his own eyes the suffering of the people because of polluted water causing water borne diseases. So he decided to solve this problem and came up with his Nanofilter®.
I'd like to recall the work of my classmate Paula Helena, who presented us Malala Yousafazi. She started fighting for people in need especially for female education when she was eleven years old. That made me think because almost everybody of us knows some people that need help or are treated unfair. Why not stand up for them and start changing something!
